Year in Review 2020 | The key cyber issues facing the global construction industry

Listen Later

In the last few decades, businesses have been increasingly required to collaborate in a digital environment. This is increasingly the case for businesses in the construction industry where the sharing of data on large infrastructure projects and use of IT systems increases exposure to phishing, security incidents, payment diversion frauds and ransomware attacks. As construction businesses continue to invest in cyber security, the need to implement robust internal practices to reduce the risk of a costly cyber-attack or technology disruption are ever more imperative.

In this podcast, Legal Director Will Cooper interviews Ian Birdsey and Helen Bourne, both partners in Clyde & Co's Cyber Risk team to discuss some of the key cyber issues facing the global construction industry and what businesses within the industry can do to mitigate against the risk and impact of potential cyber incidents including in a post-Brexit environment.
