My will to live, the support of my family, medical and occupational professionals and above all else believing in the higher power are all that has allowed me the chance of being able to share my story as I thrive on being an advocate for people with disabilities. I do so by building professional relationships, raising awareness in different topics, event planning/fundraising, motivational speaking, and radio announcing. I was born with Spina Bifida. My parents were told that I would not live very long and if so, I would remain a vegetable confined to a wheelchair dependent on others for the rest of my life.
In 2011, I was named Ambassador of Change through the Broward Children Center and Leadership Broward Program for educating young children in the second grade about disabilities, with the hope of decreasing bullying in the schools. In addition, I enjoy using my talent of communication to inform and include the community on disability related topics and events through multiple appearances on Cox Media's HOT105, 99JAMZ, and Radio Disney. I have also participated in interviews, worked multiple voice overs as well as an infomercial in affiliation with Cox Media, and participate as a host for Talent TV Productions, giving the talented artist the opportunity to be recognized.
Since 2011, I had been a part of the production for Independence on the Runway, "No Limits!" fashion show showcasing our abilities on the runway. Without limits in addition to Inspiration Runway, DisAbility Expo and my latest, Inclusion through Entertainment since 2014 which features performers with and without disabilities, an all-inclusive fashion show, adaptive sports along with more fun for the entire family, all to benefit kids and young adults in our community through more social event, assistive technology, and more.
In 20014, I was invited to share my story of triumph and adversity Univision station and had my depute on television! My goal is to fight for inclusion. My goal is for every person to know that we all have abilities and understand that there are services to help us reach our full potential. I do this by communicating, writing, media, and using all the ways possible to arrive at a larger number of the community. I would like to discuss the possibility of hosting or being a special guest at the next Spina Bifida walk as testimony that we may have Spina Bifida but it doesn't have to control our life, we have talents and abilities. To learn more, please join my page facebook.com/letsintegrate I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Currently working on my 3rd annual Inclusion Through Entertainment event taking place 9/11 More info at FUNclusion.com and I'm also A part of the Bold Beauty Project
