This week on the show I sat down with author Lorena Para.
Lorena has been writing since she was a kid, and published her first novella in 2019. A homeschool mom, Etsy shop owner and chicken wrangler, Lorena says that being an author is “always who I wanted to be.”
She went into this knowing completely nothing about the writing and publishing process, and from her perspective it “really takes a couple of books to find out who you are as a writer.”
Listen in as Lorena shares a bit of her journey as an author. On this episode, we discuss:
Connecting with local author groups
Lessons learned along the way
The importance of never giving up and not letting fear stand in the way of writing
Her husband as her greatest supporter and encourager
And more!
Mentioned on this episode:
20 books to 50k

About T.C. Burr
After years of putting it off, I have started writing my debut novel—a story about friendship, and about growing up. It follows the lives of a group of young men as they navigate the world between two mountainous seasons of life, with all the twists, turns and trials that come with growing up.
Through this podcast, I aim to highlight inspiring stories from fellow writers, entrepreneurs, and creatives, offering encouragement and practical advice for those pursuing their own creative and business ventures.
A dream left on the shelf is one of life's greatest regrets.
Today's a great day to get started.
It's not that you haven't done it, it's just that you haven't done it yet.
