Things are always darkest before the dawn... As Scrooge is met by the final spirit, the Ghost of Christmas Future, he is shown what the future may hold for himself and those he has affected. His heart had already been affected for the better, but it is this glimpse into the future that prompts true change... In the time before Jesus's birth, Israel faced what may have been its darkest period. Jews faced persecution and oppression, and in the midst of it all, God was largely silent. For ~400 years God did not speak through a prophet to His people at large, but these dark, silent, years ended with the coming of the dawn- Jesus. Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace...
