George / Giorgos / Yorgos (Greek: Γιώργος)

This month we welcome a Greco-African who can be called by many variants of his name, as diverse as his versatility in the booth.

Born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa, this mix came out from the other side of the world, New Zealand in fact where he’s currently based.

Having nurtured his taste for electronic music at a young age, having the usual suspects as inspiration (Knuckles, Cox, Morillo, Tenaglia…) he was soon putting a pair of mismatched turntables to use. In his early 20’s he began to dive into the deeper minimalistic approach of the genre, driven by bass line heavy house and underground grooves.

He's featured on radio shows and podcasts from the US, across Europe down to Asia, we're so glad to have him on our podcast. Not being genre bound, he prefers the music to dictate it’s soul. His mix for simsphonica slides through deep grooves trickled with melody driven by low end frequencies that will keep your foot tapping throughout.
