Yoga Nidra means yogic sleep. It is a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping where the brain produces theta waves, the same waves associated with deep meditation and restorative rest. Twenty minutes of Yoga Nidra is as restorative as two to three hours of conventional sleep. The difference is not in the amount of rest. The difference is in the quality. Your nervous system downregulates. Your muscles release. Your mind stops spinning. You wake up not just rested. You wake up recharged.

No effort is required. No belief is needed. You just need to lie down, close your eyes, and listen. The voice will guide you. The body will follow. The energy will return.
