Genesis 41 Pharaoh had 2 dreams. The first dream was 7 healthy cows and 7 ugly cows. The second dream was of 7 healthy grains and 7 withered grains. Pharaoh sent for his magician of Egypt and his wiseman. They couldn’t interpret the dream. Joseph was able to interpret the dreams to Pharaoh. The dreams were the same. God was telling Pharaoh what he was going to do in Egypt. This was a warning that there will be 7 years of plenty and 7 years of famine. Pharaoh saw how God blessed Joseph with wisdom. Pharaoh made Joseph his ruler of all of Egypt. Joseph was also in charged of storing the food until the famine hit. The famine was severe that the people had to come see Joseph for food .
Joseph was so blessed that God made him king of nations.
Genesis 42
Jacob sent his son to Egypt to get grain so that they could survive the famine. All the sons went except Benjamin. Joseph recognized his brothers when they arrived food. Joseph gave them a hard time and said one of you must go get your youngest brother and bring him back here to Egypt. The rest of the brothers stay in jail for 3 days. On the 3rd day Joseph tell his brothers to leave 1 brother behind and the others can go get food to take back to there families. They agreed. The brothers started feeling bad for what they had done to Joseph. Reuben didn’t like what there brothers had done. Simeon was left behind. Jacob told his servant to give the food and to put the money back into there sacks. When the brothers had made it home they told the father Jacob all that had happened. How the money was returned to them and how they thought they were spies. They also told how one of the brothers had to stay back and bring the youngest brother Benjamin to Egypt. Jacob became upset with his sons. Reuben says to his father you may kill my sons if I don’t bring Benjamin back to you. Jacob refused the offer.
What was meant for evil against Joseph, God meant it for good.
Abraham descendants were highly favored in the sight of God. Joseph listened to God.
