Ch. 9
But there'll be no darkness for those who were in trouble. Earlier he did bring the lands of Zebulun and Naphtali into disrepute but the time is coming when he'll make that whole area glorious. For to us a child is born and to us a son is given that will usher in justice and righteousness forever. They were infected with wickedness. They shall be in trouble and see no way out. And men ways displeases God. He even makes their friends to be at war with them.
Summary: God seeks his sinful people. Jesus becomes our shining light of the world but men loves the darkness. God becomes angry with us because we don't seek Him.
Ch. 10
Who legislates evil is doomed. Who makes the laws that make victims. Laws that make misery for the poor. Exploiting defendless widows and taking advantage of homeless children. What will you have to say on Judgement Day? God is still angry. Assyria is doomed. Assyria is to be stripped clean and rob them blind. But Assyria has another agenda. He's out to destroy as many nations has he can. So whats topping me from destroying Jersusalem the same way that I destroyed Samaria and all of her god idols. Now God says that its time for Assyria to be punished.
Summary: This isthe destruction of the wicked but God is restoring hope to the people during challenging times.
Ch.11
A shoot shall come out of the stock of Jesse and a branch shall grow out of his roots. A king shall proceed from the son of Jesse. The life-giving Spirit of God will hover over him, the Spirit that brings wisdom and understanding, The Spirit that gives dirrection and builds strength,the Spirit that instills knowledge and Fear-God. Fear-God. He won't judge by appearences, won't decide on the basis on the hearsay. This child shall bear fruit, glorify God and give life to all who look upon Him in faith. God speaking thru Isaiah tells the people of Judah that he is tired of the useless sacrifices and the refusing turn away of their sins.
Summary: The Messiah is coming.
Ch.12
And you will say in that day, I thank you God. You were angry but your anger wasn't forever. You withdrew your anger and moved in and comforted me. Yes, indeed God is my salvation. I trust, I won't be afraid. God yes! is my strength and song, best of all my salvation. Joyfully you'll pull up buckets of water from the wells of salvation. And as you do it you'll say, Give thanks to God. Call out his name. Ask Him anything! Shout to the natioins, tell them what he's done, spread the news of his great reputation! Sing praise song to God. He's done it all.
Israel can trust God and not be afraid. Anger is gone and He is our
Peace.
Summary: Pray that God gives us salvation to know Him, to walk with Him and to satisified with Him. Praise God for His great work in our lives. Sing praises before the Lord.
