Before the No Arena Chinatown Philly movement in 2023, before even the Phillies stadium proposal back in 2000, there was the construction of the Capital One Arena in Chinatown, Washington D.C. back in 1997. What do these events in two separate cities, 120 miles apart and over 30 years difference, have in common? How can we prevent the destruction of culture from a major metropolitan city like Washington D.C. from happening again?
