Matthew 17:1-9

The opposite of confidence is fear. The person who’s confident feels secure and is ready to move forward no matter their surroundings. But the person lacking confidence is already afraid about something—afraid about not measuring up, afraid of the unknown, afraid of failure.

The key to having confidence cannot be based on something within yourself. The source of your confidence needs to be outside of you. The source of your confidence has to be Christ. In him alone, you can stand on your feet with your head held high. Because you’re not standing on who you are on your own, or what you do on your own. You stand on and cling to who Christ is for you; what he does in you and through you. Christ comforts us in our fears, our insecurities, and our lack of confidence.
