Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you. - 1 Peter 4:12, NKJV
In today’s Scripture, the apostle Peter could have said, “Don’t think it strange when you face difficulties and adversities,” but he used the words “fiery trials.” God was saying, “Sometimes, I’m going to let you go through the fire, through things you don’t understand, things that are unfair.” You’ll be tempted to get upset and bitter, but trust Him in the fire. God is ordering your steps, and He will not mismanage your life. He knows who hurt you, what you didn’t get, what wasn’t fair. He knows how much fire, how much heat, how much pressure you can handle. He’s still in control of the thermostat. If that fire was going to take you out or stop you, He wouldn’t allow it. You are well able. You are strong in the Lord. You are full of can-do power. Keep the right perspective: That fire is not going to burn you up. It’s releasing you into new levels. The fire is all a part of God’s plan so you can become all you were created to be.
Prayer: Father, thank You that Your Word lights my way and tells me to be ready for some fiery trials. Even when life is difficult and feels like a wildfire, I choose to trust in You and believe that You are ordering my steps. I believe that the fire is releasing me to new levels. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
