Every thinking person realizes that there is something terribly wrong and that this world is in a mess and that it's beyond the control of sinful human beings to make it better. John the revelator says there is a new heaven and a new earth coming, because this present one is in desperate need of renewal, and those who will occupy it are in need of a renewal as well, and that renewal can take place in our lives, and it must, if we are going to be citizens of that new world.
