Not only is there and invisible world, that world is in the midst of an invisible conflict that has eternal implications.   Have you ever wondered why Jesus, being God incarnate, didn’t just speak a word and make the enemy go away? Remember one of the reasons Jesus came was to model to us what it means to walk in complete dependence on the Father in the power of the Holy Spirit. So on the night of His greatest battle, and Peter, one of His friends, was the target of the enemy’s attack, Jesus demonstrated the solution for us – He prayed – a lot! The problems we face aren’t really about our mates, our children, our jobs, or our circumstances. Behind all of those things is the subject of our basic truths : a malicious, personal archenemy who wants to use anything he can to destroy our lives.
