"Your mistakes do not define who Christ says you are!" Everyone is human and we all make mistakes. We hate when we say the dumbest possible thing at the wrong moment or do the stupidest thing imaginable or make a terrible choice at a time when we think no one else is looking.

I have been counseling people for 30 years and know that you are not your mistakes. Yes, that moment or incident happened, but that is one event over the millions of events that will happen over the course of your life. Take in the bigger picture of your life and gain the larger perspective.

Your mistake may expose something in you. It may reveal something in you that you need to address or change your decision making and gain more wisdom. However, it is not who you are. If you lie, steal, cheat, hurt someone else, have an abortion, have sex outside of marriage or don't pay your taxes, those are all mistakes. They are not who you are.
