Have you ever tasted food without salt? If you have, is it delicious that you want more? No is the answer. Any food cooked without salt is tasteless and lacks value, and so also is the world without Jesus, the light of the world.

The Lord in our text of the day referred to believers as the salt of this earth. If you are born again and following Christ, the Bible calls you salt to this Earth. This means that the world as it stands without true Christians is tasteless and valueless.
