Matthew 5:17-20

In his Sermon on the Mount, Jesus unravels God’s Law for his people. He tells us what the Law’s true meaning is. He tells us about the relationship we are to have with God’s Law. And, most importantly, Jesus tells us what he has come to do with God’s Law.

Jesus has taken us who were slaves under the Law and broken our chains with his Gospel. Now he has set us free to obey God’s Law no longer as a slave but as a willing disciple of Jesus, who’s already fulfilled the Law for us.
