The Temple of the Living God

2 Cor. 6:14-16

14 Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness? 15 What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil[d]? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? 16 And what union can there be between God’s temple and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God said:

“I will live in them

and walk among them.

I will be their God,

and they will be my people.[e]

17 Therefore, come out from among unbelievers,

and separate yourselves from them, says the Lord.

Don’t touch their filthy things,

and I will welcome you.[f]

18 And I will be your Father,

and you will be my sons and daughters,

says the Lord Almighty.[g]”

One of your identities as Christians according to the scriptures is that you are the temple of the Living God.

You are the dwelling place of God.

You are Holy

You are carriers of God.

Because you are His ambassadors in the world with a glorious mandate.

You cannot afford to associate ourselves with filth;

You cannot partner with just anyone.

Which means you must be discerning

When choosing life partner

When teaming up with someone in business

To fine tune your discernment, then you must be in constant communication with God. Get His approval before you go into any alliance.

The alliance might carry a lot of promises with it, but we must remember not to walk by sight, you must discern. Don’t be carried away with mere promises of bliss or profits but rather know for yourself who God will have you team up with.

Benefit:

One of the benefit of being discerning when it comes to choosing a partner is that it prevents LOSS

Loss of time

Loss of resources

Loss of your soul

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for life and for reminding us we are your holy temple. Father, we ask that you help us to always yield to your leading and not be wise in our own eyes in Jesus name. Give us, Lord, the spirit of discernment in Jesus name. AMEN!
