After a long and successful career in Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Cathey took a much-needed two-year sabbatical to release, reset, and restore her spirit. This transformative time led her to move abroad to Panama, where she reconnected deeply with herself and embraced a slower, more intentional way of living. By the second year, she felt inspired to write her memoir, Out From the Shadows: Invisible No More.  Alongside completing her memoir, she pursued a lifelong dream of becoming a therapist, returning to school at the age of 54 and proudly earning her second master’s degree in counseling in 2023 at the age of 57. She is certified in grief counseling and currently training in Brain-Spotting, a powerful therapeutic approach for healing trauma and emotional challenges.
