Today’s Scripture:
Genesis 27:39-40 MSG
Isaac said to him, You’ll live far from Earth’s bounty, remote from Heaven’s dew. You’ll live by your sword, hand-to-mouth, and you’ll serve your brother. But when you can’t take it any more you’ll break loose and run free.
Family, you've got the power to change your story. In others words, you can change your story. You can write your own narrative by the decisions and choices you make. He's telling Esau, that you made a bad choice before by selling your birthright because you didn't value the blessing of the firstborn. You miss out on it because you made the wrong decision. Have you missed out on your blessings because you made the wrong choices in life? There's still hope for you.
Here me, the Lord is a good God, he gives second chances, but you have to take it by force. He says when you become tired of the struggles. Are you tired enough? Some of us say we're tired but are we tired enough? When you become tired enough you will change your story.
Esau endured family, and so have you and I have endured because of making wrong decisions. Wrong decisions can lead to a lack of progress.
For Esau he entered a season of struggles living from hand-to-mouth, struggling to make ends meet. He face perils on every side. This is us at times, we feel trapped by our circumstances! We feel stuck! And we can't see a way out! And we live in the shadow of others.
But you can change your story! You've got the power to change your story! Esau's promise came with an open-ended clause, a promise that can set him free, Isaac said when you can't take it anymore you will break loose and run free! This is a powerful reminder that we have the ability to change our story, the narrative in our lives. When we reach a breaking point.
God has equipped us with the strength and resilience to rise when we’ve had enough of being oppressed, bound, or limited to break loose, change the story, right the wrong and become all that God has created us to be. Today, you must break loose change your story, let go of the fear, the negative thoughts, the sin, and the hurt, and run free!
