The scariest manipulators aren’t the ones who look like villains. They’re the ones who look normal, sound polite, and make you feel unreasonable for asking a basic question. We start with a true late-night subway call that taught me how easily a smooth story can hide control and harm, and why “surface-level instincts” can fail when someone is managing the space, the narrative, and the other person’s voice.
Then we zoom out to the modern manipulation landscape: AI-generated war videos, stolen accounts dressed up like news outlets, coordinated influence networks, and the most overlooked trick of all, real images paired with false captions. We talk about how misinformation spreads at scale on social platforms, how rage bait monetization works, and why the hardest lies to catch are the ones built on something real. If you care about media literacy, critical thinking, propaganda detection, and protecting yourself from online scams, this is the core skill set.
Finally, I teach the RADAR method, a practical framework inspired by Robert Cialdini’s persuasion research and sharpened through real-world experience. You’ll learn to spot reciprocity traps, fake authority, manufactured urgency, anchoring and framing, and reframing or gaslighting. We run a quick RADAR scan on a viral post and end with simple homework you can use for three days online and in one relationship that feels off.
