Eighty percent of trauma fatalities are due to uncontrolled hemorrhage from an extremity. To help, OHSU is partnering with the Stop the Bleed coalition along with state and local agencies to teach hand-on classes in tourniquet application, applying direct pressure and packing an injury using gauze.
