Branch of a tree with lot of fruits bends towards earth. Virtuous person always bow down to earth. But a dry wood never bends down. Neither does a fool who does not respect others.  Emptying the cup is not about forgetting everything you know. Neither is it about physically emptying your thought process. The truth is, it is about suppressing the ego. The Ego does not dissipate so easily. Our true battle has always been and will probably always be, the one with the ego. The suppression of the ego is a continuation process. The ego will not allow its supremacy to be challenged. And it uses a myriad of means to rationalize it's approach. It makes it appear as if you are merely being more rational, that you are questioning the process because you need to know more. It will make you question the veracity of the mentor or master in front of you. It will use science to challenge spirituality and religion to challenge science. It will use any platform it can find. The ego has full access to your intellect, which means it knows all your weaknesses. There is nothing you can hide from it. Empty your cup before your life is emptied of its purpose.
