We have this way of thinking that as adults we should be rewarded for doing what we ought to be doing as grown ass adults.  You don't deserve anything explains that , you deserve what you put the work in to achieve.  the Bible says when I was a child I thought as a child but, when I became a man I put away childish things.  The life of an adult is not rewarded with milk and cookies, its rewarded with doing you responsibility.
