How do you live a fulfilling life and find meaning in what you do?
Life as in business doesn’t make sense when it is not rooted in something of higher purpose and when you don’t find happiness in it.
Work on being significant and move out of certainty.
Jon Johnson is the head coach at JJ Strength and Conditioning. He helps former athletes look & feel young again using 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙩𝙝𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙗𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙎𝙮𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙢. He is a former college basketball player turned Fit Pro.
In this episode, Jon talks about how his life used to be in a structured environment geared towards a path of certainty like most everyone. Not until he changed his mind and set out on an adventure that made a fulfilling life for him did he find what he was looking for.
He talks about people getting scared of how great they can become and the fear of success. About fitting in and not standing out. At the same time mentioning becoming significant not so much for yourself but how you impact the people you serve.
As a former athlete, he realizes that there are old beliefs that no longer serve you well in your business. And it's just wise to let go of them so you grow.
If you want to find what makes you happy, take the way of uncertainty. Jon had proven it himself when he traveled and made a go for what his heart and mind wanted.
As to him, growth is never fun, but that is the only way for you to stay long in the game.
And what’s important is the person you’ve become because of the growth that happens.
“That was the greatest experience of my life because it forced me to change. It forced me to forgo the certainty of having a career and step into the world of like, I don't know what's gonna happen, but at least I'm fulfilled. I'm enjoying life. And life is meant to be enjoyed.”
