Prophecy is important. It's not only our knowing what's on its way and God's plan for us, but the most wonderful thing is knowing that God has a plan for us! Before we were even born, each of us had our picture hanging on God's wall. He chose us from before the beginning of time. We have a wonderful God. On two occasions, Jesus said that John the Baptist was Elijah. But John denied being Elijah. Jesus is never incorrect. The word of God does not contradict itself. So there has to be an answer on why this happened. The word of God is not in error. The God of the word of God is not in error. The truth was to be found in the hearts of the hearers. Elijah is one of two people in the Bible that did not die. They were looking for Elijah. They knew the prophet had to come before the Messiah did. Prophesies have an ultimate fulfillment and an immediate fulfillment. Watch for Jesus. He's coming quickly and He's coming soon!
