“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1:12-13
Mission: To share the Good News
“…be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2Timothy 2:1b-2
How do I do that? By bringing and by going
“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” John 15:16
“…Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them
to come in, so that my house will be full.” Luke 14:23b
1: God wants to use me to bring others to Jesus
Who do we bring? Everyone we know
When should we bring them? Now
How do we bring them? Start by finding something in common
“To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 23 I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1Corinthians 9:22-23
The key to fulfilling your mission: Meet people where they are
“…whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses
their life for me and for the gospel will save it.” Mark 8:35
2: God calls me to go in His name
Jesus said to His followers, “Go everywhere in the world
and tell the good news to everyone.” Mark 16:15 NCV
What do I do? I do what Jesus did
“…you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Acts 1:8
“The man whom Jesus had healed begged to go with Him, but Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Go back home and tell people how much God has done for you.” So the man went all over town telling how much Jesus had done for him.” Luke 8:38-39 NCV
Where do I start?” With those closest to me
What do I tell them? What God has done for you
