Jesus makes it very clear in Luke 14 v25-27, you must give up everything and everyone to be his disciple. He doesn't mean your immediate family like if you are a man. your wife and child, absolutely not. or a woman with a husband and children, no. He is referring to anyone outside of this that rejects him, mum. dad, brother, sister, friends etc. And everything like sports, activities the world creates.
