You Shall Not Steal but what do we do if someone does steal?  The Bible gives us sundry application laws on how to deal with thieves.  Man's law in America says put him in jail, but only after he has stolen numerous times.  Is this just to make honest tax payers pay higher taxes to house and feed thieves?  Or in Sharia Law, chop their hands off?  God said to make the thief make restitution to the victim.  If he can't make restitution, he must work off his debt and punishment to the victim so the victim gets his property back.  This is where we get certain inalienable rights...the right to "pursue happiness" which is property.  So, how can we fix the looting and destruction of property that is happening in inner cities?  Simple, follow God's legal requirements for theft.
