Acts 6:5a, ESV: And what they said pleased the whole gathering, and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Spirit,
Full – completely occupied, abounding in, complete
Faith – trust, belief, confidence fidelity
Holy Spirit – breath, wind
“He was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and a great number of people were brought to the Lord.” Acts 11:24
3. Saved to Share
“So the word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.” Acts 6:7 NIV
8 Now Stephen, a man full of God’s grace and power, performed great wonders and signs among the people.
9 Opposition arose
On that day a great persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria. Acts 8:1b
4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went. 5 Philip went down to a city in Samaria and proclaimed the Messiah there. 6 When the crowds heard Philip and saw the signs he performed, they all paid close attention to what he said.
Acts 8:4-6
“Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.” Mark 8:34-35
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” John 17:3
