You don’t have to want a contract with New York City Ballet to start ballet.
In this video, I’m sharing reasons to start ballet that have nothing to do with going professional, especially if you’re an adult beginner wondering if it’s “too late.”
Today we discuss:
- Better posture and body awareness
- Improved mental clarity
- Finding community through dance
- Getting into the best physical shape of your life
- The undeniable aesthetic of ballet
Ballet isn’t just about becoming a professional dancer and your ART has nothing to do with making money in the first place (even though there's nothing wrong with that!) It’s about finding a vessel of expression, joy, confidence, creativity, and building a stronger relationship with your body, mind and soul!

I let that thought control me for YEARS but now, in my late 20s, I moved to New York City and I'm finally starting ballet late. This is a space for me to document the ups and downs of learning how to do ballet in my now 30s and show the world that it's never too late to live your dreams.
