In the land of Tolria there resides a great college, known as the Third  Shield. This university teaches some of the world’s most renowned  scholars and explorers, even beyond Tolria itself, from all walks of  life. Even the most dense of bugbears are able to learn from this  academy. Tolria’s finest comes from this school, and students from even  beyond the borders of Mariton where it is located are more than welcome.

However, deep below the surface of the school a darkness has begun to writhe and twist, concocting schemes of vengeance. Many students and teachers have gone missing over the last few weeks, and some have even begun to fade from people's memories entirely. Thus, the college has hired a mercenary from the organization of VAULTT, Tolria's union for hired hands, in an attempt to figure out the source of these kidnappings, save the students, and, by extension, the school itself. Welcome to Young Misadventurers: The Nightmare of Third Shield.
