To open the program, Mickey and former Project Censored intern Reagan Haynie speak with writer Alan MacLeod. He’s just written about a new phenomenon in U.S. military recruitment: social media posts from “e-girls,” designed to catch the eyes of young males. Also joining the segment is military veteran Rosa del Duca.
Then Eleanor Goldfield interviews Dr. Harriet Fraad about the psychology behind mass shootings, a type of crime committed almost exclusively by men, and rare outside the U.S. She finds the roots of these assaults in the unique way that capitalism and patriarchy intersect in the U.S.
