Youngstown Mob Talk: The Italians vs The KKK

Listen Later

James Naples III & Johnny Chechitelli highlight a pair of "Post of the Weeks" from our Youngstown Mob Facebook group. James Olmstead provides another great .pdf file for the group. This time, it's an old Youngstown State University research paper, featuring an interview with Joseph "Pobo" Jennings. "Pobo" details the riots of the 1920s, in which the Italian community in Niles, Ohio fights back against the Ku Klux Klan. The second "Post of the Week" features Youngstown's own, Nick Adduci. Nick is a talented musician who allows us to use his original song "Seat 17" in our intros and outros of our Mob Talk shows. Nick posted an acoustic performance of this song -- inspired by former Mahoning Valley Congressman-turned-convict James Traficant. We feature his entire performance at the end of this show.
