Dr. Schroeder draws parallels between the importance of the alter in the Old Testament to the importance of altars in our lives today. He urgers his church family to ponder the convicting question of "What is my altar?" Am I leaning on something supernaturally powerful and divine as Jesus, or am I leaning on money, relationships, and other worldly things to be my altar? It's a worthy question, because unless our altar is anything other than Jesus Christ we'll never live fulfilling lives.
