Sammy SweetSpirit is an author, motivational speaker, accessibility consultant, and singer/songwriter who has been blind since birth. Her album, Something For Everyone, was released to digital music stores in 2019. Her powerful message in her book Look At It This Way, invites us to have a clearer understanding of people who are blind, and a deeper experience of connecting with each other. As a person with a disability the weather is a challenge for me. If it’s summer I got overheated easily and if it’s winter I get cold very easily so I share my experience with that.

In this episode you’ll hear my thoughts about my process of accepting my disability. It’s still a work in progress but I am very open about my journey. Also if you listen closely, in the middle of the episode the jingling that you hear in the background is Edison doing a nice little stretch and shaking it out! :-)

So thrilled to have Emily on to share her story. She also lives with a physical disability and shares what it’s like for her. She also talks about the Americans with Disabilities Act. It just passed its 30th anniversary and we wanted to celebrate it.

In this episode I will share the different physical therapies that I took part in and also talk about psychological therapy as well. Both are super important. Oh yeah, and you’ll hear about my service dog Edison!
