I definitely feel uncomfortable sharing this episode BUT transparency and authenticity are some of my strongest values in how I show up for my community.
In this episode I am sharing 3 of my "doula coach confessions" that I have never "kept secret" but have not said out loud in this way either.
I mention in this episode that my "disqualifiers" are also my "qualifiers" in SO many ways.
I also share to be a walking permission slip for doulas wanting to do things THEIR way, against the grain, and know that there is a different way to do things when you are juggling a career in birth work alongside pregnancies, young kids, financial pressure and life in general.
Come over to IG and tell me what you thought of the episode.
Long story short, Motherhood has not "come easy" to me, and I have NOT been showing up as the mom I desire to be. FAR from her.
Peek behind the curtain of what things have been like for me the last couple months in motherhood, the "ah ha's" I'm having, and the things I'm being faced with head on so I can make needed changes.
This is NOT doula related AT ALL, but I know my people are majority moms and are juggling business and motherhood.
This does NOT make me feel "hirable", or an "expert in the space", but being transparent with my audience is a core value of mine so I felt it on my heart to unveil the highlight reel and share some of the "not great" things I've been dealing with.
The real and the raw of what I am NOT proud of, but felt I NEEDED to share.
I do hope this makes you feel less alone in your own journey.

Getting vulnerable today and spilling some BTS tea.
As you all know, I share all the time, about stepping into your big doula energy. Well a few weeks ago MY coach told me "Taylor, you're not fully in YOUR Big Doula Energy", and damn that was a gut punch. But I knew she was right.
In this episode I share:
It's so important for me to share the BTS with you. I want you to know where I am doing the work too. I am in this WITH YOU.

I want to make sure we share values, beliefs, and are the best fit.
You can steal some of mine to ask in your consults, but I'd challenge you to come up with YOUR OWN, that resonate with how you do business and how you doula!
What are some of your philosophies you hope your clients align with, key characteristics that you want them to have/not have, and beliefs/values you want to make sure you share?
Come to IG and tell me yours, as well as what you thought of this episode.

I have ALWSYS talked about intuition and self trust. It's always been on the forefront of everything I have ever created or stood for.
In this episode I talk about the tendency moms have to outsource their power—to the FB groups, to doctors, to mom friends—rather than tuning into their own intuition.
You’ll hear:
If you're a doula or mom who wants to make decisions from a grounded, intuitive place—this one's for you.

This is a continuation from the last episode "5 things I would never put in my contract part 1", so go listen to that one 1st if you have not already. It will add needed context to this episode.
In this episode, I shift the conversation from WHAT I would not put in my contract and WHY, to what to actually put there instead if you are wanting to uphold a similar boundary.
There is a fine line between REALLY GOOD business boundaries, and falling out of service or integrity to your clients. This episode will make that line more clear and touch on the nuances.
After listening in, head to my IG, be sure to give me a follow, and let me know what you think:)
Then snag my Doulapreneur Crash Course to get MY actual contract that I use with MY doula clients, an audio breakdown of exactly why each section is the way it is, PLUS SO MUCH MORE for only $33!
You can even upgrade into my Consults to Clients Course (master attracting ideal clients & closing them on consults) for 1/2 off, making the bundle only $55! (Literally worth hundreds!!)
Inside this episode I spill the tea on 5 of the clauses that I see or hear about doulas adding to their contracts that I would NOT add to mine.
I dive into WHY I would not add these things to my contract, why they don't make sense, are in disservice to the client, or are even out of integrity.
I DO however understand the intention behind having these in the contract and that doulas are simply attempting to set and hold boundaries to keep themselves from burning out.
There is always nuance and of course I bring that to this conversation.
I recorded a part 2 adding in my solutions/alternatives to these clauses that are both very supportive of the client AND allow the doula to uphold boundaries that support their lifestyle needs.
Stay tuned for part 2, and in the meantime head over to IG and let me know what you thought of this episode- even if you disagree! I want to chat about it! Maybe even record a part 3 if needed!
Looking for more guidance, snag my Doulapreneur Crash Course to get my full contract template along with a walkthrough of each section I have in there and why + so much more for only $33 bucks!
I read a comment on a doula facebook page that sparked the importance for this nuanced conversation.
I am typically in the camp of charging for all the births you attend! Even as a newbie and YES even for your certifying births.
That said, I wanted to bring some nuance to the conversations because there is duality to everything and nothing in business or life is black and white.
The ENERGY behind WHY you are doing births for fee or not matters more than anything else.
In this episode I talk about why charging MAY BE the best option and why doing a birth or 2 for free MAY ALSO be a better option for you.
It all goes back to it being an equal energy exchange and I dig into examples of how this can look.
Regardless, it requires introspection and knowing yourself. You can't simply base your decisions or prices on what others are doing or based on what you're "supposed" to do.
My warning is to not let "imposter syndrome" or fear of not getting hired drive the car in this important decision!
Ask yourself: Why am I charging what I am charging? Why am I doing births for free? Check in with yourself and how it feels.

Been having this conversation with multiple doulas bts and on seeing their posts on FB.
This is one of the reasons doulas quit or decide to take a step back from their birth work career all together, BUT there are options that maybe you had not considered.
In this episode I tell you how I pushed away doula work for myself for the longest time for this exact reason and how I decided to run my business differently from the jump!
I give perspective shifts, share options I know you have not thought about, and give ways to continue having a business EVEN WHEN you truly can’t take on call clients at all.
I am VERY passionate about this because I was here too!!
We deeper dive into these concepts in my Doulapreneur Crash Course- an $33 audio training that you can listen to on the go!
Also if you are ready to dive deeper, book a 1:1 Voxer day with me for $99! I currently have 3 spots open!
