Your "Freedom to Fix" is a Lie.

Listen Later

The White House just signed off on your "Freedom to Fix." Read the fine print before you celebrate.

President Trump signed a presidential memorandum today telling the EPA to back off prosecuting people for fixing their own vehicles.

Everyone's calling it a win. The document itself says otherwise — buried in the fine print is a line stating it creates no enforceable right at all. It's a soft law. It's a suggestion the next administration can erase with a signature, the same way DACA got reversed, restored, and reversed again.

And while everyone's celebrating the EPA easing off engine repairs, nobody's talking about what this memo doesn't touch — the data your car has been quietly selling to your insurance company this whole time.

In this video: what the memo actually says, why a presidential memo isn't the same as a law, the EPA's own enforcement numbers before today, and the telematics fight nobody mentioned.
