Good morning and welcome to Wake Up with Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly.
Today we’re in 1 Samuel 16:1, where the Lord asks Samuel, “How long will you mourn for Saul?” This episode is all about letting go of the broken things in your past so you can step into the new season God has for you.
So many people stay stuck mourning what did not work out. A relationship ended. A dream fell apart. A job was lost. Something you hoped would be God’s best turned out not to be. And while grief is real, this message is a reminder that you cannot sacrifice your future on the altar of your past. At some point, you have to get up, let go, and move forward into what God is doing next.
Pastor Scot and Pastor Holly talk about how easy it is to keep replaying what could have been. We hold on to the idea of what something might have become, even when God is clearly calling us onward. But the question God asked Samuel still matters today: How long are you going to stay here? How long are you going to let an old hurt, old setback, or old disappointment keep you from a new promise?
This episode also brings balance. There are things in life you do need to grieve, and grief is a real process. But even in grief, the goal is healing and movement, not getting permanently stuck. God has more for you. There is still purpose ahead, still joy ahead, still blessing ahead, and still a future to walk into.
If something in your past has been holding you back, let this be the day you start moving again. Pick yourself up. Let go of what was. And make room for what God is bringing next.
