Luke chapter 23 and verse 34: “Then Jesus said, ‘Father forgive them for they do not know what they do,’ and they divided his garments and cast lots.”

Casting their creator out of their society brought a fearful darkness over the nation. Inconceivable, that people would do that to someone whose only mission was to heal and to forgive.

Jesus Himself explained the moment in John chapter 3 verse 19 saying these words, “Men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil.” For them, the cross was a place to scavenge for goods; not a place to admit their condition and their need. Now how about you today, listening to this, do you realize that you need to be forgiven? If you do, the good news is that forgiveness is your gift from God.
