Dr. Jill explained that Bell’s Palsy is a weakness of the muscles on one side of the face. It is caused by paralysis of the facial nerve on one side of the face. Bell’s Palsy usually begins improving in a couple of weeks. One in sixty people will have it in their lifetime. Dr. Jill says to be sure to get checked if you have facial paralysis to rule out a more serious problem such as a stroke or a tumor.
