Brief Bio About Hawa T.K Diallo
Hawa, Chief of the Civil Society Unit at the Department of Global Communications has extensive United Nations headquarters and field experience designing advocacy and outreach initiatives that foster partnerships on global issues with stakeholders, with an emphasis on youth and women’s organizations. Hawa began her United Nations career in 1986 in the Department of Public Information (now known as Department of Global Communications) and has served in two United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in Cambodia and Somalia.
She has also worked for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN- Habitat) in Nairobi, Kenya as an Associate Human Settlements Officer in the Partners and Youth Section, where she created programmes to empower young people and women living in urban and rural areas.
