A friend of mine, named Jordan, is exceptionally kind. He’s the type of person who makes everyone feel valued. Whether he’s at a restaurant, or a board meeting, or getting gas at the service station, he never fails to ask someone “how is your day going?” or “how are you doing?” This authentic kindness has prompted people to wonder what’s different about Jordan or why he is always so nice. It seems like such a small thing, but his kindness has opened the door to many conversations about Jesus. Jordan tells us that when people are softened by his kindness, they’re often more open to hearing the Good News of all good news in the world – the good news about Jesus Christ.

The Bible says in Ephesians 4:32, “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” So this week, practice being kind. When someone frustrates you, be quick to show grace. When you see a stranger having a tough day, greet them with a smile and a “hello”. In a world with so much darkness, be a genuine light. And as you live this way, expect God to open doors for conversation about Christ. Yes, expect God to do that!This is Luis Palau.
