Your Nervous System Believes Actions, Not Affirmations

Listen Later

In this episode, we explore how our nervous systems respond to safety, familiarity, and change. We explain why unconditional self-love and self-grace are often the first steps toward regulation, and why trying to think our way into a new identity usually falls short when our bodies haven’t caught up.

We also explore how daily weed use can numb emotions, blur the signals our bodies send, and keep us from noticing what needs healing. Then, we unpack the difference between true regulation, like food, sleep, breath, meditation, and presence, and how we sometimes bypass our inner reality through substances, overstimulation, jobs, or relationships.
At the heart of the conversation is identity: how our nervous systems cling to what feels familiar, how we can give our bodies proof that change is safe, and what it looks like to name the old story, claim a new one, and begin acting in alignment with who we are becoming.
