A journey of entrepreneurship, being a sole operator and the vulnerability of motherhood. As well as being a skin therapist and coming to the realisation that Clear skin won’t give you confidence. Halima Dandan spent years waiting for her acne to clear so she could finally feel good in her own skin. When it did clear, the shame was still there.
This week Steph sits down with Halima, a beauty therapist with 23 years in the industry. She started as a 17-year-old apprentice who hid her cystic acne behind her hair and turned off the bright lights in the treatment room. Today she runs a home-based clinic in Sydney, a product like ‘Dermal Code’ and a community for solo operators.
Halima shares the whole path: mobile pampering with a newborn, carrying a massage bed at eight months pregnant, and opening a home-based studio when brands told her they didn’t supply home-based studios. Then she and Steph get into why your nervous system, hormones and inner child all show up on your face.

You can't acid your way to better skin. The industry sells intensity — stronger actives, more treatments, faster results — but the thing showing up on your face usually started somewhere else entirely.
This week the tables turn. Stephanie hands over the mic to Tessa Lloyd and becomes the guest on her own show, talking through twenty years in skin, wellness and the family business that raised her.
Steph is a dermal therapist and co-owner of Skintrition, the clinic her mum started three decades ago. She takes us back to being brought in after school at 13, the rule that she had to study something else before she could work there, and the shift from spa to clinical and back again. Then she gets into the part she could talk about forever: why skin is the last place a problem appears, not the first.

You can't biohack your way out of stress. Wellness gets talked about in terms of supplements, machines and optimisation, but one of the biggest drivers of how we feel, and how our bodies hold up, is our mental health.
This week Stephanie is joined by Tessa Lloyd, a Melbourne-based mental health therapist, occupational therapist and podcast host. Tessa works mostly with women who feel burnt out, stuck or disconnected from themselves, and she's spent years helping people build practical skills to support their mental health.
Together they look at what it costs us to hide parts of ourselves, and how people pleasing, suppressed emotion and chronic stress affect our nervous system and our physical health. Tessa explains why you can't always think your way out of stress, why the body needs its own release, and why slowing down is the first step she recommends to almost everyone.
They also cover:
- Social media, comparison, and how to be smarter than the scroll
- Cheap dopamine, and simple ways to get the real thing back
- The patterns that show up when we're disconnected from ourselves
- Why wellbeing depends on community and equal energy exchange
- How to start therapy in Australia: mental health care plans, Medicare rebates and choosing the right modality
- Why authenticity feels so terrifying, and what it costs to fake it
- Tessa's own slow-living practices and her two daily non-negotiable

Empowerment isn't the polished Instagram version. It's not having everything figured out; it's trusting yourself enough to keep figuring it out.
In her first solo episode, Stephanie launches the Empowerment Series, a run of conversations with women who inspire her, by sharing her own story first. She talks about rebuilding herself after two big breakups in her mid-20s, a shift in identity, a long stretch of illness, and what followed: buying her first home, paying off debt, travelling solo and speaking at her first conference, all within six months.
She also shares the mission behind Skintrition, the spa her mother Sandra Cannalonga founded in 1983, and the five tools that carried her through it all, each one something you can start using today.
The five tools:

Skin is never just skin. What shows up on the outside is usually telling us something about what's happening underneath and one of the most overlooked systems in that conversation is the lymphatic system.
This week Stephanie is joined by Chelsey Jean, naturopathic therapist, entrepreneur and founder of Chelsey Jean Lymphatics. Chelsey has spent more than 30 years helping women understand their bodies, and her mission is to reach five million of them.
Together they get into what the lymphatic system actually does, the everyday signs it's asking for support, and why so many of the symptoms women have learned to live with - puffiness, aches, sore breasts, low energy, sluggish digestion - are worth paying attention to rather than normalising. Chelsey also walks through her daily sequence live on camera, so you can follow along at home in about five minutes.
They also cover:
• Chelsey's story - leaving home at 15, starting her first business at 19, and building the movement behind Boob Camp
• Lymph node removal, lymphedema, and what women aren't told before and after breast cancer surgery
• What “arm puffs” are, and the other early signs worth knowing
• Why she's not a fan of compression garments, and what she recommends instead
• Practical tools: gloves, creams, pressure therapy, harmonising mats
• Rapid fire - sauna vs magnesium pool, yoga vs pilates, and the one symptom women have wrongly accepted as normal
