In certain religious traditions, people will pause for prayer four or five times a day. If you're not a part of that tradition, it might seem like a cumbersome tradition. However, for the faithful, it is a pleasure to take some time to express their gratitude for everything they enjoy, all the grace they receive.

Perhaps you've heard that it's important to meditate, that it's good for your health or well-being... but you haven't quite brought yourself to ask the question: "Why do I want to do this?" or perhaps "What is the best experience or state of mind that I could attain from this?"

Perhaps meditation will give you peace, connection with the Divine, a sense of calm, happiness, joy, satisfaction, gratitude, elation, insight, among other things. But first, you must begin, and beginning is much easier if you know why.
