Love This Way!

Your Relationship Has an Emotional Economy

I think we've been measuring love the wrong way.

We ask,

"How much do they do for me?"

But maybe that's the wrong question.

Because every relationship has an emotional economy.

Every compliment...

Every broken promise...

Every hug...

Every criticism...

Every thoughtful gesture...

Every ignored moment...

They're all transactions.

But here's the part no one talks about...

You can spend years investing in your relationship...

and still leave your partner feeling emotionally bankrupt.

Why?

Because you've been investing in a currency they don't use.

You bought gifts.

They wanted your attention.

You worked overtime to provide.

They wanted thirty uninterrupted minutes with you.

You solved their problems.

They wanted to be comforted.

You said,

"I love you."

They were hoping to hear,

"I'm proud of you."

The problem isn't always that we've stopped loving each other.

Sometimes we've simply stopped learning what makes the other person feel emotionally rich.

Love isn't measured by how much you invest.

It's measured by whether your investment makes the person you love feel wealthy.
