It's baseball season, so I'm going to refer to a baseball analogy uttered by, of all people, the famous University of Oklahoma football coach, Barry Switzer, who said: "Some people are born on 3rd base and spend their lives thinking they hit a triple."

I guess it must be nice to have been born on "3rd base", but many of us haven't - present company included. So, how do we close the gap with those who have come into this world with certain natural advantages in the lottery of life?
