Our stories don’t define us, they define who we used to be. They lay the framework for the transformations we’ve experienced – and those still to come. When we take a label from the past – usually one we don’t want to have attached to our identity – we say, this is who I was, how I related to the world at one time, but no longer, because I learned something from this experience.
