Welcome, fellow Conspirators!
We hope your weekend is going well! As we go to print, the net is abuzz with the word that US “Intelligence Threat Assessors” as the Pentagram see Israel as the top “critical” threat to the safety of US intelligence and secrecy. Obviously, this is laughably late, it’s obvious, and it might inspire more than a few observers to wonder why the information was spread NOW, as both the House and Senate push bills that would integrate US and Israeli military projects (the NDAA Sec 224 in the House) and US and Israeli Intel projects, in Section 622 of the “Intelligence Authorization Act”. This appears to be a signal from inside, perhaps from people who would like to offer more evidence of Israeli malfeasance, as a way to push back against these two (House and Senate) proposals. Likely, this leak will not change anything… Here is the link to start things off, and then, it’s off to the proverbial “races” as we dive into the other big news!

WARIRANIn this first week of June, alone, the US conducted “self-defense” strikes on Iranian radar sites and a facility on Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, plus an oil tanker. Iran responded with ballistic missiles and drones targeting US bases and facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain, claiming hits on US airbases and the Fifth Fleet headquarters. Most incoming projectiles were intercepted, with no major US casualties reported, but sirens sounded in Kuwait City and Bahrain condemned the “hostile” attacks. The UAE, Qatar, and others denounced the strikes. LINK And ANTIWAR notes that, although the US has engaged in kinetic strikes, Trump doesn’t consider this “fighting”. But what is one to make of this? We last month noted that Iranian exports were roughly the same as they were in the first quarter of 2025, but that, since the price of oil was higher, Iran made more money. We will research this in more detail for Monday

LEBANONThis is just one man offering this view, but, given the wholesale dismissal by the Lebanese government of the rights of Lebanese people south of the Litani River, and given the importance of Hezbollah in defending those people, this makes sense.

RUSSIA-UKRAINEThe war remains grinding. Ukraine conducted audacious strikes on St. Petersburg (June 3), targeting a navy base and oil terminal during Putin’s economic forum, prompting shelter-in-place orders. Russia launched large-scale missile/drone barrages on Ukraine, killing civilians in Kyiv region and Kherson. A June 5 prisoner swap exchanged 185 each. Putin rejected Zelenskyy’s open-letter proposal for face-to-face talks, calling it “rude” and insisting Russia will win. Oh, and that great UK hero for the Arms industry there, Kier Starmer, will meet with Zelinsky. How wonderful! LIN

IMMIGREATION POLICE STATEThe Trump administration’s anti-constitutional and immoral immigration enforcement has faced significant legal pushback and street-level resistance in recent weeks. On Friday June 5, U.S. District Judge John McConnell in Rhode Island blocked key Trump policies freezing work permits, green cards, citizenship applications, and other benefits for noncitizens from 39 countries targeted by travel bans. The 135-page ruling vacated the policies as arbitrary and unlawful, noting that applicants had followed rules but were targeted based on nationality. Hundreds of thousands of pending cases could now proceed. LINK
AND WE MISSED THIS AT THE END OF MAY! - The Supreme Court on May 26, reversed a lower-court decision and re-limited immigration judges’ free-speech lawsuit over restrictions on public statements and lectures. In an unsigned opinion, the justices criticized the Fourth Circuit’s handling and sent the case back to lower courts. Until that is adjudicated through each level of the courts, Trump will be able to place virtual gag orders on judges who might comment on US policy when they are outside of the court. Astounding. And, I want to be certain that I bring back thoughts on Markwayne Mullen’s vile appearance on Cap Hill this last week… Recall - During a June 2 Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing, Mullin repeatedly declined to commit to following court orders that conflict with administration policy. When pressed by Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT), Mullin stated the agency would “never break the Constitution” or the law but questioned court politicization: “If we didn’t think courts were politicized, then I would probably be able to answer that.” Murphy warned that Republicans and Democrats should be “really, really freaked out.” Mullin has also faced criticism over plans to potentially halt international flight processing at sanctuary-city airports (e.g., Newark, New York, Los Angeles) in response to local resistance. The US economy is flashing warning signs of slowdown amid high energy costs, softening consumer sentiment, and corporate caution. CEO confidence plunged to 47 in Q2 2026 (Conference Board survey), with 47% reporting conditions worse than six months prior and expecting further weakening. JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon warned of a “weakening” economy that could tip into recession, citing job growth at just 29,000 over three months (down from 105,000 previously) and unemployment edging to 4.3%. REMEMBER THE LIBERTYOn June 8, 2026—the 59th anniversary of the 1967 Israeli attack on the USS Liberty (killing 34 Americans, wounding 171)—Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) will deliver a House floor speech memorializing the crew. He announced via X that survivors will join him in the gallery and urged viewers to watch on C-SPAN. Massie described the assault as unprovoked. The event remains controversial, with official inquiries citing mistaken identity but survivors and some officials alleging otherwise. Massie has long highlighted the incident amid broader Israel-policy debates.

Much like the Rand Corporation’s 2019 document recommending that the US draw Europe into an exo-proxy war with Russia via Ukraine in order to see the European productivity index crash and the Dollar relatively made to look more promising than the Euro, the Mark, Pound, etc., , Mario’s guest descriptively outlines (he does not necessary promote the idea as moral or constructive) how the US might be trying to work a ‘relative advantage’ scenario out of the oil crisis the US attacks on Iran have caused.
