Today I steer a different way from my regular sport-related and mindset approached podcast to talk about a few topics that are extremely important to me. This episode is one I have looked forward to recording since I started this podcast!
In this episode, I talk with my long time friend Kendall Hagar about disability and ableism, disability justice, inclusion, and how to shift your thought to be a more inclusive and open hearted being. Kendall shares about the organization she works for, The Wayfaring Band, and we both touch on our greatest takeaways from our trips with the Band. The goal of this episode is to influence you to begin to see the world in a different light with a new perspective.
We are all just human beings seeking to be loved and accepted as we are!
Working with Special Olympics and among the disability community has been one of the greatest gifts and blessings in my life, as well as a fuel to the fire knowing how far we as a country and a world have to go to be truly accepting. I hope this episode serves as a good place to start in your personal learning and further sparks reflection of your own internal thoughts and biases.
If you have any questions, comments, concerns, always feel free to reach out to me, I love hearing from you.
